Ghazanfar Khan, MD

Dr. Khan completed his Psychiatry training in 2011. He is Board Certified Adult Psychiatrist. Dr. Khan has extensive experience in treating adult mental health disorders including depression, bipolar, anxiety and psychotic disorders in outpatient, inpatient and residential settings.

Carey L. Krause

Carey is a dual-certified nurse practitioner, board certified in family medicine and psychiatric mental health. She graduated from the University of South Florida in 2010 and Nova Southeastern University in 2022. She specializes in men’s and women’s health, pain management, primary care, and urgent care, as well as treating a broad range of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, eating disorders, insomnia, ADHD, and PTSD. She has lived in the Tampa Bay area for over 10 years and is the mother of three children and three dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, coaching competitive cheerleading for her daughter’s cheer team, and fishing. Her philosophy on treating mental health is the understanding that mental health problems do not define a person, but rather are experiences that can be managed in order to live the best life possible.

Lauren Perez

Lauren is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She treats a broad range of psychiatric disorders including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, substance abuse disorders, insomnia, ADHD, and PTSD. She was born and raised in Hernando County and is married with three children and two dogs. In her spare time, she frequently attends car shows with her husband and his show car. She also enjoys attending her children’s many events, including swimming, band, and cheerleading competitions. She has a strong background in psychiatric and mental health nursing and a deep understanding of the complexities of mental illness. She is committed to providing compassionate and effective care to individuals struggling with mental health issues and disorders to help them achieve their full potential through medication management, supportive therapies, and lifestyle modifications.

Robin Taylor

Robin Taylor received her Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Social Work at Saint Leo University in San Antonio, Florida.  She has been working full time as a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Florida for eight years.  Her career has been very diversified and she has worked extensively with the homeless population, at-risk youth, and geriatric and end-of-life patients.  Robin is proficient in CBT, DBT, EMDR and talk therapy.

Robin developed a program called Digital Hope which was utilized as a way to help the homeless population become self-sufficient by teaching them how computers could help them obtain the resources that they may need when unable to find them elsewhere.  The program was successful and became part of the curriculum at one of the largest shelters in the Tampa Bay Area.

In her spare time, Robin loves to go camping with her favourite dog, Lola.  Robin also loves painting and crafting.

Michelle Smith

Michelle has an extensive background in direct services, child welfare, public health and contract administration. She received her Master’s degree in Human Services/Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. She has experience working with diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, PTSD, relational issues, complex trauma, ADHD and autism spectrum. Michelle believes that holistic treatment is the key to overall wellness. She utilizes a client centered approach with a blend of CBT, DBT, ACT, solution focused and other evidenced based practices. She works collaboratively with clients, educating and empowering them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Michelle enjoys spending time at the beach, gardening and doing crafts.

Oscar Wilson

Oscar Wilson has over 15 years of experience in health care. He has worked closely with hospital administrators and providers to ensure excellent patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Oscar earned both his bachelor’s degree in human services and master’s in business from Springfield College Springfield Mass. Oscar is an ambassador for positive change and seeks to help people in need.

John is a driven healthcare entrepreneur with over a decade of experience in healthcare operations and corporate strategy. Before joining Advanced Psychiatric Health, John served as a Regional VP at HNI Healthcare where he led their Behavioral Health and LTACH Hospital Medicine division. Prior to HNI, John was the COO at the Martin Healthcare Group from 2010 – 2018, and co-founded their Intensivist and Post-acute care companies. An experienced Behavioral Health operator, John serves as COO at Advanced Psychiatric Health and oversees all practice operations as well as the shared services team, customer care, integrations and contracting.
